The Exco of Dungung Development Association yesterday inaugurates the first Board of Governors for its Community Comprehensive Secondary School Dungung. The historic event held at the permanent site of the community school was attended by various stakeholders within and outside the community, including the Ngolong Dungung, PTA Exco, Teachers, Parents, youths, Councillor of Ampang-B and community members.

While inaugurating the Board, DDA Chairman, Nde Joel Gogwim admonished them to consider themselves as critical servants of Dungung people. He called on them to contribute progressive ideas that will help bring the school into the global map.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Nde Lengcheka Dubi Koplamma went memory length to narrate the history of the school from its formative years. He assured DDA that the Board under his leadership will utilize the experiences of its seasoned members to ensure that the school is lifted to enviable heights from its present state. The Board chairman also announced the plan to begin smart classes in the school using advanced teaching technology.

Goodwill messages were taken from various stakeholders present. And the Board was taken round the school to have a first hand idea of the state of infrastructure in the school.

In another development, the Dungung Development Association also carried out a medical outreach programme to the community members.

Doctors and other health professionals were mobilized by its medical outreach committee headed by Dr. Friday Tungchamma.

The medical outreach freely tested community members for possible hepatitis illness and other prevalent health issues such as blood pressure. Drugs were also given freely to patients at the venue.

Also, two surgeries were conducted by Dr. Emmanuel Dubi Koplamma using his personal resources.

The DDA thanks members of the medical team and members of the community who contributed financially and through other means to see the success of the outreach.
