Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has tested positive to COVID-19 following a test he had and members of his family.
The test result indicated that Governor Lalong tested positive while all members of his family tested negative to the Corona Virus. The Governor is asymptomatic and has gone into isolation while his close aides are being tested.
As a result of this development, the Governor will from now work from home during the period of treatment. According to a statement signed by the Governor’s Director of Press and public affairs, all State matters requiring the Governor’s physical presence will be handled by the Deputy Governor.
The Governor has urged all citizens of Plateau State to observe all COVID-19 protocols as the pandemic is still prevalent in the state and country at large.
He advises citizens to apply all precautionary measures especially during the festive period by avoiding large gatherings, using facemasks, washing of hands with soap and water and adhering to personal hygiene measures.
