According to a statement made available to WeJosRock by Ephraim “Freezle” Bulus Founder, Explore Naija and the convener of the Jos City Trek, the postponement is due to circumstances beyond their control.
The Explore Naija team has made this decision, in consultation with relevant authorities, to postpone the “Jos City Trek” from 26th of September, 2020 to 1st October, 2020.
The background to this was the press release made by the Hon. Commissioner of Information and Communication, Dan Manjang, resuscitated the monthly environmental sanitation in Plateau State, which usually restricts movement between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am, every last Saturday of the month. This happens to be the date selected for the event.
All deliberations to seek approval for the event to go as planned have not been viable, and resulted in its postponement. Therefore, this press release seeks to inform the general public of the recent development. The team apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused you or your organization.
With the new date being Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary and a public holiday, they believe that it will give more people the opportunity to participate in the event.
Time of event still remains 7am prompt. All participants are to converge at Zarmaganda junction, beside Light Microfinance Bank, Jos.
