At the 33rd and 34th Convocation ceremonies of The Gindiri Theological Seminary, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda was conferred with a “ Transparency of Leadership Award” for excellent service and leadership in his place of work and the society at large.

Few amongst many of his sterling and conspicuous leadership strides that made him recognized by the COCIN seminary are:
1) His forthrightness, innovative and foresight displayed during his days as a lecturer before his appointment as INEC Commissioner Benue state with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering with the University of Agriculture Makurdi and as a Director of ICT for 13 years against the routine 4 years unrenewed term but competence and productivity broke barriers and oxygenated his longevity.

2) worthy of note is his doggedness and resilience shown during the conduct of 2019 general elections in Benue state where apart from the two leading political parties( APC & PDP) some ‘smaller’ political parties such as APGA, Labour Party, etc got elected into state and National Assembly. Prior to 2019 general elections, comprehensive and periodic voter education saturated the political firmament and ensured that every vote counted and returned. His undiluted intent and content attracted the international communities like the European Union, United Nations and many NGOs as they domesticated their monitoring team in Benue state to see how he can undo the already tagged as flash point as election violent state. However, He unleashed his requisite dexterity of professionalism in ICT to curb some of the bad elements that perpetually subvert the tide of election results in the state.
3) year 2020 marks the 12th year of a sacrificially sponsoring of over 200 candidates for JAMB following the pre UTME test usually conducted on 27th December each year, whoever passes the test regardless of your background, sex, religion will get a free JAMB form from this lonely voice in the wilderness of moulding next generation. He goes further to organise and sponsor the tutors and instructors handling the JAMB tutorials and supplies them with computers to familiarize with Computer Base Test(CTB). Let your child or ward be part of this year’s program.

4) INEC happens to be like a Quarry Site for him for he has seen the good, the bad and the ugly of public service. He conducted elections in Osun, Ekiti, Rivers, Edo, Cross River north senatorial district bye elections and he also participated in the recall exercise of Sen. Dino Melaye of Kogi west senatorial district. In all these has proven a shining star and has never compromised his integrity, conscience and professionalism for a plate of porridge or materialism as he discharges his duties dutifully in the path of truth and light as taught him in Boys Secondary School(BSS) Gindiri.

Dr. Nentawe is appreciative and humbled by this immeasurable and unquantifiable recognition by the organizing committee. This singular act has emboldened and strengthened him to do more to humanity and betterment of the society at large. He never knew his little contribution to nation building is noticed this much.
